Welcome to Junior Cricket at Wooburn Narkovians

Wooburn Narkovians welcomes young players of all ages, from reception through to U19 and we aim to provide quality coaching in a safe, stimulating and fun environment where young players of all abilities can develop a love of the great game of cricket, improve their skills and test themselves in matches against other local clubs.

The junior section is a vital part of this cricket club, and there is a direct route from the juniors into senior teams for those players who want to take it. Over the years, many players have made this progression and a large proportion of the current 1st and 2nd XI players have come up through the junior teams. We want this to continue, our juniors are very much the future of this cricket club.

New Members Welcome

The junior section offers mini cricket membership for reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 children with coaching on Friday evenings from early May through to late July. For children aged 8 and older coaching is on Sunday mornings so if your child is looking for a club to join or fancies a change, please contact us through this website, or come along to one of the coaching sessions. We will be delighted to see you. For any existing members, if you have any friends who might be interested, please bring them along.

Coaching and Practice with ECB Qualified Coaches

Outdoor coaching sessions are held at our ground in Wooburn Park on Sunday mornings and will recommence on Sunday 21st April 2024, continuing through to late August. These are run by the club’s ECB qualified coaches and are from 10.00am to 12 noon and are split by age group/ability.  For the older juniors (Y11, 12 & 13) we plan to run coaching sessions on a weekday evening or in conjunction with senior training.

Teams, Matches and Competition in 2024

For 2024 we have entered teams in the Bucks League competitions at U9, U10, U11 and U13 age groups. We also plan to arrange a few friendlies for our other age groups and will once again be running our own Kwik Cricket Tournament in July. All our young players will have the opportunity to play in matches.

ECB Clubmark - A Commitment to Youth Development

To demonstrate Wooburn Narkovians commitment to youth development, the club first achieved the ECB Clubmark accreditation in August 2011 which was been followed up by our reaccreditation ever since. The various Child Protection and Safeguarding policies have been posted on the Child Welfare page. More information on this will be posted on the website in due course.
