Wooburn visited Radlett and were invited to bat. Radlett\s decision appeared to be a correct one when Paul Cooper was dismissed off the third ball of the innings. Jeff Morris (16) and Dave Smith (10) were also quickly back in the pavilion with the score on 28-3.
Phil Cuthbert (72) was joined by Stuart Savage (23) in a stand of 66, which was broken when Savage was dismissed with the score on 94. Phil Cuthbert continued to provide the backbone to the innings , but there were no further major partnerships. Tim Waxman added a spirited 14 as Wooburn ended on 152 all out. The main bowlers for Radlett were Haxall (5-36) and Edwards (3-22).
Wooburn had an early success in the Radlett innings when Phil Thomas dismissed Green with the score on 14. Hall joined Morris in a stand of 59 for the second wicket.Hall looked very comfortable against the Wooburn bowling and also shared a partnership of 56 with colt Andy Hayes (22). Hall was finally dismissed with the score on 118, after making a valuable 68. Hanson and Clark saw Radlett to a six wicket victory. The wickets were shared by Phil Thomas, Phil Cuthbert, Peter Harper and Chris Bateman.
