Match Report
After taking control of their match against Maidenhead & Bray, the 2nd XI failed to capitalise and ended the game hanging on for a draw.
Excellent bowling from Tim Waxman and Dave Small tore through the visitors top-order, but Baskerville and Lewis recovered the situation to take Maidenhead & Bray to an eventual total of 178 from 51.5 overs. Waxman, in only his second outing this season, took 4-35 from 17 overs, while Small ended with 3-37 from 19. Dave Pidgeon, also returned respectable figures of 3-38.
The Wooburn reply started well, with Pidgeon and Rob Smith adding 61 for the first wicket, before Pidgeon was caught behind off Baldwin for 30. After Pidgeon\s departure, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. A number of Wooburn\s batsmen reached double figures, but none was able to go on to make the big score required to threaten the Bray side\s total. Wooburn finished disappointingly on 135-8 with their last pair at the wicket. Baldwin bowled throughout for the visitors, taking 5-65.
