Teams

We are actively searching for new players for the 2025 season. Whether you are an experienced league cricketer, enjoy relaxed friendly fixture or are looking to try something new, we would love to have you join us.

In the 2025 season our 1st XI, led by our newly assigned captain Ben Cooper, plays in Division 3B of the Thames Valley League.

After several years of moving up and down the divisions, we maintained our position in Division 3 last season. A collection of strong performances from younger faces who came up through our junior section and a variety of unique captaincy decisions by former captain Ben Barker playing a big part in our competitive cricket.

If you are interested in joining one of our teams, get in touch with us via email at players@wncc.co.uk and speak to one of our current players.

Our 2nd XI, led by Craig Newman for the past few years, plays in Division 7 Cof the Thames Valley League.

As a club we have prioritised development, as well as results, in our 2nd XI. Whilst maintaining our position in division 7 we have also provided opportunities in senior league cricket to our junior members.

Sundays are where most players begin their journey into adult fixtures and for the Narks our Sunday team is all about fun, development and competition.

Kevin Dolan does a great job in ensuring everyone gets the most out of their Sunday game, whether you’re a developing player, club legend or just in it for a good time.

With the ambition to have 2 Sunday teams as often as possible, we are always looking for more players no matter your age or experience.

If you are interested in joining one of our teams, get in touch with us via email at players@wncc.co.uk and speak to one of our current players.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally players have their own bat, pads, helmet etc - but if you haven’t played for a while, people will be happy to lend items for a week or two.

Club shirts and leisure wear can be bought here:

Although you don’t need to be registered to play friendlies, the Thames Valley League does require players to be registered.

If you are currently registered with another TVL club, you will need to initiate a transfer request. The process is pretty simple and we can help you with it.

We have two Thames Valley League teams on Saturdays, with the 1st XI playing in Div 3 and the 2nd XI in Div 7.

We also play friendlies on Sundays, and the occasional midweek T20 game.

We don’t have a set night of the week for senior nets, but there will be people netting once or twice a week.

The best way of knowing when is to join the “General Chat” group on our WhatsApp community.

Email players@wncc.co.uk to get in touch with one of our current players.

Either Friday evenings or Saturdays during the season are good times - Friday nights in particular are great social occasions.

For senior players, the annual subscription is £120 (with an option to pay £10 a month by standing order) and match fees are £10.

All details can be found in the membership section of the website here.

Like most clubs, we (very sadly) stopped doing cricket teas during Covid, so if you want something to eat between innings, you need to bring your own!

Chocolate and snacks are available from the bar.
