The 2nd XI disappointingly went down by nine wickets to a strong Farnham Common side at One Pin Lane.



Asked to bat first, Wooburn were soon in trouble on a pitch that was much faster and bouncier than they were used to. Green, bowling accurate inswingers at a brisk pace, destroyed the top order, returning the startling figures of 6-23.



Only Paul Cooper, with his first half-century of the season (52), put up any real resistance. Once he departed, two disasterous run outs provided the icing on the cake, as Wooburn were despatched for just 105.



In reply, Dave Small gave Wooburn some brief hope when he bowled Jensen in his first over. Initially, Uphill and Monty struggled against the new ball, and Small may have taken further wickets on another day. However, the batsmen survived this early spell and went on the prosper. Their only problems after this were caused by small boys playing near the sightscreen, a situation that was quickly resolved by the formidable Uphill.



Farnham Common eased to their target in the 26th over, leaving Wooburn with the proverbial mountain to climb if they are to retain their Division 5 status.
