A fine opening stand of 64 by young all-rounders Phil Cuthbert (37) and Paul Sullivan gave Wooburn an excellent start to their match at home to Buckingham Town.
Runs flowed freely as Smith followed the pair and opened up with a plethora of drives to reached 66. The cautious Sullivan eventually reached 77, his highest score for the club, and allowed them to declare on 200-3.
Buckingham were soon in trouble thanks to a blistering opening spell by Waxman (3-24). The first wicket fell without a run on the board. Ball also took three wickets as Buckingham struggled to get on terms, but they eventually held on to earn the draw with just two wickets remaining.
