The 1st XI played out an uninteresting draw at home to Boyne Hill on Sunday. Steve Smith (39) came good in the Wooburn middle order and a ninth wicket stand between Tony Wake (32) and Alan Rogers (15) boosted the total to 138-9 declared after a generally poor batting display.
The Boyne Hill reply was painfully slow on an unpredictable wicket and they finished well short of the target on 71-7. Suhail Deen (15) top scored. Savage took 4-43 off 22 overs and Smith returned the remarkable figures of 1-15 from 14 overs for Wooburn.
