At home to Headington, the Wooburn batsmen were again in good form, with Rob Males notching up a half-century, Ted Savage (50) joining him in a third wicket stand. Later on, Purkiss weighed in with 43 to take them to 202-8 declared.
Headington never really got going well enough to make victory a possibility and, after Friend (28), Harrowing (31) and Ray (24) were dismissed, the rest of the batting collapsed to 135-8 at the close. There were two wickets for Shaw and Cooper and one apiece for Warrington and Savage.
