Undefeated Day blocks Datchet victory bid
An undefeated innings of 30 by Wooburn Narkovians\ tail-ender, Phil Day, helped block Datchet\s attempts to win and earned his side a draw at Wooburn on Saturday. Top-scoring for his side as they replied to Datchet\s 136 all out, he withstood the effective Stickland (6-43) to guide Wooburn to 117-9 at the close.
Datchet batted first and quickly lost Harling to Day before Furness (20) settled things. Doug Nower (2-14) and Stuart Savage (4-44) then made further inroads, but a splendid innings of 73 by Thomas saw them to respectability.
Keeble (29) and Derek Milsom (20) gave Narks just the start they needed, but Stickland removed the middle order cheaply and it needed stubborn resistance from Day to hold out.
