Wooburn started well through Anthony (16), Milsom (27) and Smith (22). But Hurley\s Kevin Clement was in sparkling form as he took 7-46, with five of the wickets being clean bowled. Tony Wake brought some stability back into the innings with 33 not out, and he was supported by last man Doug Nower (12*). Wooburn declared at 163-9.
Hurley were immediately in trouble against the bowling of Alan Rogers (4-30) and Stuart Savage, who produced a tidy nine over spell. The middle-order rallied round with Warden, Clement and Forest all getting into the 20\s, but the tail-enders offered little resistance to the Wooburn bowling and they were all out for 105 to give the home side a 58 run-victory.
