Only Milsom (59) offers resistance to North Maids
Poor batting from Wooburn Narkovians was the main cause of their defeat against North Maidenhead in the Grasshopper Chiltern League.
Wooburn batted first and, with the exception of Derek Milsom (59), they had very little to offer. The only other batsman to reach double figures was Stuart Savage (14), as Wooburn fell to the bowling of Robert Wakefield (3-14), Alan Lacey (2-16) and Garry Church (3-36). The home side were all out for 110.
Maidenhead began well through Allan Herbert (20), George Stewart (28) and Wakefield (13), but the middle order slumped with Doug Nower (2-14), Alan Rogers (2-15) and Savage (2-28) taking two wickets each. However, North Maidenhead reached their target of 111 for the loss of eight wickets, thanks to R.Croxford (15 not) and B.Stephens (9 not).
