Match Report

All out for 33!

Wooburn Narkovians\ bowlers were in devastating form, shooting out Rickmansworth for a meagre 33, and so winning by 103 runs.

On a difficult wicket, Wooburn lost wickets cheaply and only Ted Savage (41) showed determination as they slumped to 41-5. But he was then joined by his son, Stuart (20), and these two added 31 before useful late knocks by Howard Kennedy and Alan Rogers saw them to 136-9 declared. Shafe (3-37) and Dutton (3-47) were Rickmansworth\s best bowlers.

The home side\s reply was disasterous. Phil Day kept the early batsmen tied down with 2-1 from seven overs, but it was the introduction of Rogers (3-10) and Stuart Savage (4-2) which sent the innings into rapid decline, the last seven wickets falling in as many overs.
