Higgs and Westlake put on unbeaten 155
Boyne Hill scored a comfortable win over Wooburn Narkovians on Sunday, when they ran up the 154 runs needed without the loss of a wicket. Captain John Higgs (85 not) and David Westlake (65 not) followed up a tidy performance by the Boyne Hill bowlers to give victory by 10 wickets.
Although former Maidenhead United player/manager, Geoff Anthony, struggled for over an hour to make 6 runs, the rest of the Wooburn batting added steadily to the score.
Dave Smith made 42 before he was run out, and Rod Stallwood chipped in with 31, and with two other scores of over 20, Wooburn made 153-5. Naveed Deen proved difficult to score off, taking two wickets at a cost of just 26 runs from 19 overs.
The Boyne Hill opening batsmen then scored the required runs without too much trouble at 155-0.
