Keeble fails to save Wooburn
Despite a valiant 81 from Dick Keeble, Wooburn Narkovians lost their Chiltern League match against Farnham Common by four wickets. The man who did most for Farnham was A.Woodland who took 4-34, including the wicket of Keeble, and followed this up by scoring 64 runs to help his side to victory.
The wicket proved slow and the accurate bowling of Burge and Richardson suppressed the Wooburn batting, with the exception of Keeble. The next best score was Anthony\s 14, and it was lack of support that meant Wooburn could not capitalise on their start and they slumped to 135 all out.
Farnham lost a quick wicket in reply, but Woodland teamed up with Jessup (36) and, with the later contribution of 20 from Morris, they reached 136-6. Paul Birdseye (2-19) was Wooburn\s most successful bowler.
