Birdseye strikes form with 120
Brilliant batting by Paul Birdseye, who scored 152 runs without being dismissed, was the feature of Wooburn Narkovians\\ successful weekend.
Birdseye, the Wycombe Wanderers football captain, really hit form on Sunday with a superb innings of 120 not out against Northwood Town. Wooburn were in trouble at 8-3, when Birdseye and Ray Bing (37) came together. With some patient and sensible batting, they put on 130 fro the fourth wicket, and Wooburn were able to make a sporting declaration at 178-6.
Northwood were well on target after an excellent opening partnership of 52 off 19 overs between Mesquita (35) and Lynch (24). But then Stuart Savage (4-46) ripped through the heart of their batting and Northwood were left hanging on at 120-7.
