Anthony inspires Wooburn to top of the table
Geoff Anthony was in splendid form at the weekend as he inspired Wooburn Narkovians to the top of the Chiltern League following an eight wickets win against Taplow on Saturday. Anthony hit an unbeaten 71 to complete the rout, after Wooburn\s bowlers had set up the win.
Tight bowling had restricted the home side to 103-9 off 45 overs. Dave Wigley (4-23) was the pick of the Narkovians attack as only Dave Holland (52) offered much resistance.
Threatening rain clouds meant Wooburn could not afford to take their time reaching their target and Anthony, supported by Derek Milsom (15*), saw them home at 104-2 with 10 overs to go.
