A fine innings by Battans (86) formed the basis of a fine total of 181 for Rickmansworth on a wicket with little bounce against an indifferent Wooburn attack. Day (4-40) was the pick of the Narkovians bowling.
In response, Wooburn lost wickets steadily and, apart from Dick Harris (36) and Ray Bing (31), were never able to dominate an accurate attack. They eventually finished on 119-7.
