The 2nd XI slumped to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Maidenhead & Bray, but it was not unexpected given their lack of match practice. Whilst a weakened attack acquitted themselves well in the field, too many of the batsmen looked rusty and out of touch.
Skipper Jeff Morris, with help from Graham Dare, added 61 for the seventh wicket to salvage some pride after the early batting had collapsed to 65-6, but it was not quite enough to stave off defeat, as Wooburn fell 64 runs short.
Earlier, Maidenhead & Bray had posted 224-5 in 47 overs after winning the toss, thanks to half centuries from Goodman and Alam. Morris bowled well for the Narks, picking up four of the wickets to fall, receiving good support from Dare and Dave Small.
