The 2nds comfortably chalked up their first win over ICI by 7 wickets, after ICI had opted to bat first. The visitors were soon in trouble against a combination of seam and spin (?) from Phil Cuthbert and Jeff Morris. Qaisar hit a patient 38 to top score, but once he was bowled by Morris, the innings subsided to 105 all out.
Jaffa\s marathon 23-over spell yielded impressive figures of 4-41, while there were two wickets each for Phil Cuthbert and young Wahleed Hussain.
Angus Porter was then quickly into his stride, despatching three long hops to take 14 from the second over of the innings. When he miscued a pull in the eleventh over the score had already reached 48, and the result looked a formality. The successful bowled, Udi Verma, was rewarded with a second wicket, but there was little support from the other end.
After Chris Hall had made 11, opener Derek Milsom (34) and Stuart Savage (18), guided Wooburn to victory with 24 overs to spare.
