If every game of cricket was like this one, we would all retire tomorrow and the game itself would expire. This was a thoroughly miserable afternoon, and it is hard to credit that such a match could take place in Division 5A, where surely enjoyment and promotion of the game of cricket is far more important than the result. The difference between this match and Hillingdon was stark.



Enough said, we all know what happened and who was to blame. Well done OMT on your victory, but at what cost? Sadly, one or two Narkovians let themselves down under the severe provocation, and we must try to turn the other cheek in future.



There was a cricketing highlight in all the unpleasantness, Smally\s first hundred, an excellent and extremely mature innings. He received a helping hand on 98 courtesy of an appalling drop by the OMT captain, but he deserved it. It was a great effort.



As these notes are written after the last game, I can report some excellent news. OMT survived in Division 5A. Well done OMT, see you whenever! Every cloud does indeed have a silver lining.
