Penultimate ball loss for Wooburn

Wooburn captain Paul cooper started the day well by winning the toss and electing to bat. The pitch seemed to be a good one but the Wooburn batsmen found it hard to get started with the ball keeping very low on occasions.

Martin Dale, Pete Selleck and Matt Curtis all fell cheaply and it was

left to Paul Cooper and Andy Tennant to start the rebuilding process. Andy Tennant got a swift 34 with some nice stroke play and some rather agricultural shots that he has no doubt learnt from the 1st team captain. When he was eventually out the narks were struggling at 70/4 off 22overs. Paul Cooper and Tom Lees then nicely rebuilt the innings with some quick ones and twos. They then proceded to accelerate the innings run rate especially after Paul had reached his half century. After some big hitting Paul was eventually dismissed for a well constructed 87. This left young guns Tom Lees and Dove Jordan at the crease. Dove hit a quick fire 14

and gave Tom the chance to get to his half century for Wooburn, which he did with three twos off the last three balls of the innings.

In reply Princes Risborough got off to a rapid start thanks to some

wayward bowling from Ali Paine and Dove Jordan. Andy Tennant and Tom Lees then restricted the batsmen very well with some tight line and length bowling. The game was taken away from the narks by some big hitting off the bowling of Matt Paine, Pete Selleck and Robbie Rogers and even a wicket in the last over from Tom lees could not stop the narrow defeat with one ball to spare. Wooburn perfromed reasonably well with the bat but were let down by some

poor bowling and fielding.
