Wooburn travelled to Aldershot on Saturday hoping for another victory to maintain their position towards to the top of the table.



Smally once again lost the toss and so Wooburn found themselves in the field.  Mark Tennant found the swinging new ball difficult to control early on, but after just 3 overs the ball was wet and no further swing bowling was possible!  Smally & Mark bowled a tight opening 16 over spell, with both Grover and Bazen looking to attack, with Smally having Grover dropped at first slip before he top edged a pull to Tom Lees. 



Mark had now found his rhythm and claimed three quick wickets as Morley, Booten and Dates all went cheaply.  Bazen was holding the Aldershot innings together, but when Tom Lees threw the stumps down, and the ball ricocheted away, he attempted a quick single, only for Martin Tennant to swoop and run him out at the other end.



James White was now bowling tight lines in tandem with Martin Tennant and Aldershot were struggling on 55-5.  Martin then bowled Tilson with a quicker ball and the introduction of Richie Barker soon accounted for Fraser. 



Anslow now came to the crease with Aldershot on 73-7 and he looked like a top order batsman in compiling his quick runs.  Martin Tennant then trapped Ford lbw to end a big partnership and the returning Mark Tennant bowled Jennings. 



With the score creeping towards the 150 mark, only fine fielding from Matt Paine kept the score down, and Martin Tennant took a fine, tumbling catch low to his right at backward point to end Anslow\s and Aldershot\s innings on 148 all out.



Mark had to leave early, and so he and Tom Lees opened the batting, and Lees got a pearler first up from Anslow which just clipped his bail.  Mark, amazingly, was playing some great shots off his legs and James White was punishing anything remotely loose to keep the score moving along at a healthy rate. 



Mark then clipped one straight to backward square leg and James was unfortunate to be given out caught behind to leave Wooburn on 51-3, and memories of the recent game at Hurst were all too evident in nervous Wooburn players minds.



However, the experienced and highly talented duo of Ian Cuthbert and Dave Rogers were now batting together and any fears of a Wooburn Wobble were allayed as the pair dispatched Aldershot\s bowlers around Guildford Road. 



Ian fell for a fantastic 42 before Dave Rogers completed a fine 50 in knocking off the winning runs with consecutive boundaries.



Wooburn gained another valuable 20 points and remain in 3rd position with the visit of 2nd place Eversley at Wooburn Park to come on Saturday.
