It was another case of job done for Wooburn on Saturday as it was only the weather that stood between them and another league victory.



After a torrential downpour just prior to the start of the game, half the sqaure was flooded and any possibility of play looked slim at best.  However, some wind, sun, hard work & patience led to a 70 over match getting under way at 3.15pm.



With threatening clouds lingering, skipper Dave Small had no hesitation in sending OMT\s into bat and soon the skipper himself trapped Kumar lbw as the flamboyant opener shouldered arms to a ball that nipped back.



With the ever impressive Mark Tennant bowling at the other end it wasn\t long before OMT\s found themselves wanting the rain to return as Tennant and Small ripped through the batting line up, clean bowling the next 8 batsmen between them, before Mark\s brother Martin claimed the final wicket to see OMT\s finish on 66 all out.  Mark Tennant claiming six more wickets to take him to an incredible 31 league wickets so far this year!



With rain falling once again and more clouds in the distance, Wooburn openers Martin Tennant and Tom Lees set about the OMT\s bowling and added 30 runs in quick time before Tennant skied one to square leg.  Lees soon followed for a well made 20 as he knicked one behind, and Jon Nelson pulled two glorious boundaries before falling to an outstanding slip catch from Kumar.



James White and Chris Hall then saw Wooburn over the line with some positive shots and Wooburn claimed the 20 points at 6.15pm and move into second place in the league.
