Barker boys set up Wooburn win
Father and son combination of Richie and Andrew Barker helped Wooburn to a close fought last over victory at Ley Hill on Sunday. Richie Barker capped a fine all round performance with bat and ball by taking the last wicket with 3 balls to spare as Ley Hill entered the last over needing 6 runs to win. Richie\s earlier contribution with the bat, along with Paul Cooper, ensured Wooburn posted a total that at least gave the bowlers something to work with. Richie\s opening spell of 4 wickets put Ley Hill under early pressure which was futher increased by the tight bowling of Rob Hall. Andrew Barker then became the partnership breaker with his flighted leg spin drawing the batsmen from their crease leaving keeper Chris Hall to do the rest. Barker senior then returned to take the final 2 wickets in a thoroughly entertaining conclusion to the game.
