Wooburn Wobble Again!
Wooburn 2nd\s slipped to their 3rd league defeat on Saturday against a strong Burnham 3rds side.
Batting first, Wooburn started well with Angus Porter (52) looking sound and, at 94-2, looking in a strong position at the drinks interval.
However, a clatter of wickets against the Burnham spin attack and the run-out of Captain, Stuart Savage, to a wonderful piece of fielding by Ahmed, reduced Wooburn to 96-5. Pete Selleck took the attack to Burnham with a quick-fire 22 and the tail-order pair of Rogers and Dare batted well, but a total of 168 looked well short.
Burnham\s openers batted with caution and Wooburn were given some hope when Robbie Rogers took an early wicket, but an incredible batting display from Kahn (61) and a steady innings from Nawaz (70) proved what a good batting track it was. Despite losing three late wickets Burnham comfortably won by 5 wickets.
