After two morale-boosting victories, the 2nd XI slumped to a 110-run defeat at the hands of promotion chasing Kidmore End. The visitors comfortably maintained their 100% record, dismissing the Narks for just 99, after themselves declaring on 209-8 from 50 overs.
The Kidmore End innings was dominated by M.R.New (65) and C.Livingstone-Smith (49). For Wooburn, Imran Ishaq produced an excellent spell early on, before Pete Harper, continuing his good form, picked up six wickets, benefiting from Kidmore End’s attempts at increasing the scoring rate.
The Wooburn reply began well enough, Angus Porter and Rob Rogers adding 35 for the first wicket, but the dismissal of Porter began a sorry procession of Narkovian batsmen. Extras performed particularly creditably, accumulating 32.
The 2nd XI remain in fifth place in Division 6B, while Kidmore End keep pace with Burnham at the top of the table.
