Wheeler blows away Cookham Dean

On a very blustery day it was pleasantly much cooler at Nark Park. Wooburn skipper Kevin won the toss and elected to bowl, hoping to take advantage of the conditions.  Richie and William started well; bowling tight lines and both swinging the ball. Richie picked up 3 wickets including 2 nice catches by Kishore and Luke. James Dolan then bowled from the River end with his usual aggression and picked up 4 wickets. Keylocke and Fleming both batted well for Cookham but once they had gone Wheeler and Gerrish took the remaining wickets; Richie taking a high catch for the final wicket leaving Cookham on 170 off only 42 overs.



After a lovely tea provided by Natalie Newman, Wooburn started their innings. Martin fell early but that only brought in Rhys Wheeler who set about the Cookham attack with aggression; dealing mostly in leg-side and straight boundaries. After Dolan fell Craig joined Rhys but as Rhys continued his rapid scoring Craig was happy to play an uncharacteristic supporting role. Eventually Rhys fell for 75 but that only brought in Pistol Pete whose quick-fire 40 included finishing off the match in style with a 6 and a 4 off Tayls.



A comfortable win for the Narks.
