On Sunday, Wooburn slipped to a five wicket defeat at home to Cove. Wooburn made slow progress against the Cove opening attack of Audsley and Anthony. The Wooburn batsmen never came to terms with the bowling and wickets fell at regular intervals before the innings closed at 117. Anthony was the main architect of Wooburn\s downfall, returning 3-20 from a 19 over spell.
Cove\s reply began badly as the first three batsmen were removed for just 16 runs, but a partnership of 61 between Thomsett and Stratton recovered the situation for the visitors, and Woodhouse helped them home with five wickets to spare.
