On Sunday, Littlewick Green seemed to be on the verge of collapse, but were rescued by Nick Price (80 not out) and Andrew Morris (82).
After Wooburn had chosen to bat first on a beautiful afternoon, the Green stuck to their task of containing the Wooburn batsmen on an excellent wicket. Opener Ian Cuthbert played some strong drives in his 58, putting on 100 with skipper Paul Cooper (45). Once they were out, Rowland and Morris slowed the rate down and the innings threatened to stall. It required an aggressive 42 not out from Stuart Savage to take Wooburn to 185-5 after 52 overs.
After tea Wooburn immediately gained the upper hand as they reduced Green to 46-4, with Cuthbert and Turner bowling well. Morris joined Price and the complexion of the game changed as both stroke the ball effortlessly around the ground. It was a very controlled, fine partnership, which realised 142 runs.
It was also a welcome return to form for Price, while Morris again showed what a valuable addition he has been this season. Victory was achieved in the 38th over.
