SMITH CENTURY NOT ENOUGH

On a perfect batting wicket, only two Wooburn batsmen took advantage of the conditions. After Rob Smith was out very early on, Dave Rogers and Dave Smith took the score to 73, and a score in excess of 230 looked possible. But only Dave Smith\s magnificent 107 held the batting together.

The North Maidenhead batsmen took charge immediately, and with the help of some outrageous bowling, never looked in any trouble. Only Phil Thomas and Chris Bateman returned respectable figures. A fine 86 from Bowles steered North Maidenhead home to victory with four overs to spare.
