EALING SHUT DOWN BY THORNTON
Wooburn fielded first and restricted Ealing through steady bowling. The first wicket fell at 13, but a partnership of 59 between Fenton (33) and Maynard (38) helped the score along. Once these two were out, there were no more substantial partnerships as wickets fell regularly. The only other contribution of note came from Pettifer who made a lively 27. Darren Thornton was the pick of the attack, taking 5-39 off 18 overs.
The Wooburn reply started badly as they lost an early wicket. At 47-2, Paul Cuthbert (61 not out) joined Derek Milsom (57) in a partnership of 78 for the third wicket. A fine six by Cuthbert wrapped up the win with an over to spare. Lindley bowled 18 overs for Ealing and finished with 3-47.
