SAVAGE TEARS BLEDLOW APART
A devastating spell of bowling from Wooburn Narkovians\ seamer Stuart Savage earned his side a seven wicket win over Bledlow. Savage returned stunning figures of 8.2-2-27-8 to reduce Bledlow to 102 all out, after Phil Day had dismissed openers Howe and Williams.
The local side won the toss and inserted Bledlow in blustery conditions. After a tight opening spell from Paul Sullivan and Day, who removed the first two wickets for just 26 runs, there was no turning back for Bledlow.
The visitors were unable to come to terms with the conditions and, after the introduction of Savage, the weather seemed a minor problem as his varied attack accounted for all eight remaining wickets, including a hat-trick.
In reply, Wooburn moved slowly but surely towards the target, with ever reliable captain, Paul Cooper (52 not out), seeing his side to a comfortable victory for the loss of just three wickets.
