ALL-ROUNDER CUTHBERT TURNS GAME AROUND



Wooburn completed their second victory in three games to maintain their good start to their Thames Valley League Division 3 season.



Having won the toss, Odiham & Greywell decided to bat first on a good wicket and quick outfield. Youngster Nick Tappin had Dyson caught in the covers early on, and Dave Small bowled very tightly at the other end, conceding only 18 runs from his 11 overs. Goodman and Gosselin added 60 for the third wicket, but it was the introduction of Ian Cuthbert that turned the match. Once Gosselin had been removed, Goodman did not receive much support, before finally being run out for 72 off the last ball. Odiham\s innings finished on 199-9 from their 52 overs, with Cuthbert taking four wickets and Andy Tennant two.



Angus Porter and Ian Cuthbert gave Wooburn a flying start, hitting 50 off the first 10 overs, before Porter was brilliantly caught by Edmunds. Cuthbert and James White then batted superbly to add 100, and when White went for 62, Pidgeon added a quickfire 21. Andy Tennant then ran out Cuthbert, but Wooburn easily reached their target with five overs remaining.
