CUTHBERT NEAR 1,000 MARK
Ian Cuthbert, in prolific form this year, hit two big 50s for Wooburn over the weekend. His knocks of 76 and 83 brought his tally to within 100 of the 1,000 mark, and leaves him with a good chance of reaching the milestone by the end of June.
On Saturday, Wooburn drew with Farnham Common in the Chilterns League. The pattern of the game followed what has been the story of Wooburn\s season so far, as they lost the toss, were put into bat, then failed to bowl the opposition out after setting a good target.
After they had started steadily, the Narks accelerated through Ian Cuthbert (76) and David Smith (42). This set the scene for Jeff Morris (63 not out), who led his side to 236-5.
Farnham Common were never in a position to challenge the total, with Phil Day and Tim Waxman producing tight opening spells. Paul Sullivan added an injection of pace at the end, taking 2-22, but Farnham were able to hold on for a draw at 169-7.
