CUTHBERT TON IS TO NO AVAIL
Wooburn Narkovians took on Hampton Hill on Saturday and eventually lost a high scoring game by 6 wickets.
With a dozen deer making up the crowd, the visitors elected to bat. Angus Porter and Ian Cuthbert opened the innings and once again cracked the ball to all parts of the ground, putting on 115 before Porter (48) was dismissed. A mini collapse followed with the middle order all falling cheaply. At the other end, Cuthbert continued to stroke the ball around, completing a brilliant century with 14 fours and 3 sixes. Andy Tennant (21) provided some quick runs at the end as Wooburn were eventually dismissed for 232, Sherry and Carr both grabbing 5 wickets.
James White and Jeff Morris opened the bowling for Wooburn and it was White who took 3 wickets to leave Hill stranded at 24-3. From that point though, it was all Hampton Hill. The hard-hitting Robert Fullicks (97) joined Sanderson and waded into a lack-lustre attack, the pair adding 170 for the fourth wicket. Carr (24) then partnered Sanderson (88), and they took Hampton Hill to an impressive victory.
