The 2nd XI set a testing target on Sunday, when they entertained Hurst, making 216-6 before declaring. Openers Wake and Morriss (25) got them off to a good start, and White (35) and Phil Cuthbert (50 not out) saw them past the 200 mark.
Hurst\s reply got off to a shaky start as Pidgeon (4-38) made his presence felt, but a powerful middle order display saw Savoury (48), Poole (66) and Hawkes (32) give the visitors a chance of victory.
King kept Hurst in contention with a late unbeaten 20, but the match eventually resulted in a draw, with Hurst four runs short and Wooburn two wickets away from a win.
