A fine all-round display of bowling guided Wooburn Narkovians 2nd XI to a comfortable seven wicket win against local rivals White Waltham 2nds.
Pick of the Wooburn bowlers was John White, who took 3-4 including three maidens in a useful spell lasting just 27 balls. White was superbly backed up by Phil Cuthbert (3-40) and Harry Pidgeon (3-30), as the trio ripped apart the White Waltham middle and late order, restricting the home side to just 128.
Earlier, Dale (48) and Meade (34) had offered good resistance to the Wooburn attack, but once the pair had been dismissed, the Waltham innings was virtually all over.
In reply, Wooburn suffered at the hands of White Waltham\s quicks, Mann and Ellis, who frustrated the visitors with three early wickets after an accurate display of bowling. Bing (50) and Mayo (41 not out) restored calm to the innings, and they steadily made their way towards the target. Bing eventually reached his fifty as Wooburn clinched an easy win.
