Foster and Wake gave Wooburn another solid start, with Foster (0) back in the pavilion with just 4 on the board! Milsom (29) and Wake (36) both looked set for larger scores, but both gave chances that were gratefully accepted.



Paul Cuthbert scored his first run for three games before he gave a simple chance to Stringer behind the stumps. Mayo (30) and Rundle (39) accelerated the score towards two hundred, but for the first time Mayo was unable to declare before his overs ran out.



Cookham Dean made a very positive start against the attacking Wooburn openers, and the first wicket fell at 17 with Bibby caught at square leg by Harry Pidgeon. Pidgeon then removed Mellor with the help of a stunning slip catch from Mayo.



Turner (35) and Gilbey (48) put Cookham in with a chance of victory as they raced to 123 with 15 overs remaining. The fast thinking of Milsom had Turner run out, and in the next over young Sullivan bowled Gilbey as the game took another swing.



The introduction of Waxman turned the game Wooburn\s way when he took three quick wickets. Cookham continued to chase victory, although in the gloom the task was impossible. The game ended in a draw after a positive display from both sides.
