Maiden Ton for Richie Barker

Richard Barker completed a good weekend with the bat by scoring his maiden century for Wooburn Narkovians in their comfortable 81-run win over Coleshill at Wooburn Park on Sunday.



Having made 45 not out to save the game in the previous day’s league fixture, Richie again looked in excellent touch, taking a heavy toll on the moderate Coleshill attack. The visitors didn’t help themselves by failing to take a number of chances that came their way, allowing Wooburn to declare on 213-5 once Richie had completed his ton.



In his first game for the Narks, Steve Blandford, who had contributed a brisk 36 with the bat, made an early breakthrough with the ball. Crenin and Flack then added 80, suggesting a close finish was still a possibility. But once Jeff Morris had enticed Flack to flick a full toss to mid-wicket, where Ben Sturgess took a fine catch, the Coleshill innings subsided rapidly.



Jaffa worked his way through the middle order, picking up a five-wicket haul in seven overs at a cost of just 15 runs. Rob Rogers cleaned up the tail to finish with 3-49, as Coleshill stumbled to 132 all out.
