79 all out
193 all out
Dave Rogers completed his eighth fifty of the season and Jeff Morris grabbed his second four-wicket haul of the weekend as the Sunday XI scored a comfortable win at White Waltham.
Batting first, Wooburn were given a good start by Rogers (64) and James White (35). Although left-arm spinner Goldman picked up wickets fairly regularly during a fine spell of 7-63 from 18 overs, there were useful contributions from most of the visitors’ middle order, particularly Richard Barker with 30 and Chris Hall with 18, allowing them to reach 193 all out.
Ben Sturgess struck an early blow when White Waltham batted, but the home side progressed to 47 without any further loss. They then proceeded to lose four wickets without adding to their score, including two in consecutive balls to Phil Day.
Two more fell with the total on 51 as Jeff Morris employed his quicker ball to good effect. He finished with four wickets for just seven runs in seven overs.
It was left to Daniel Biggs, who picked up two wickets without conceding a run, to wrap up the White Waltham innings with the score on 79, leaving Wooburn victors by 114 runs.
