Dove Lands Maiden Ton

After being put in by Amersham Hill on a hot Sunday in August, Richie packed the top order with his big Guns and went out to Umpire. However with three overs gone he had to come back in as Wooburn were 1 for 3 leaving Dove and Ben Barker to resurrect the innings. They batted sensibly for a few overs gradually gaining in confidence, and took the Wooburn score past fifty in the 14th over, and remarkably past One Hundred in the 22nd over. Ben Barker perished on a well constructed 42 attempting a pull to a ball which kept low after a stand of 109 for the fourth wicket.



Dove kept up his assault, scoring 7 fours in 8 balls, and a couple of huge sixes as he accelerated past a hundred. He finished on 126 Not Out and was assisted by George, Wahleed and Richie as the Wooburn score rocketed to 242.



After a great tea the Wooburn attack of Ollie and Ali bowled with pace and accuracy.

Ollie picked up a couple of early wickets both to great catches by George and AJ. Richie then rotated the bowling between Andrew Preston, Chris Hall (great ct & b), The Wall, George, Wahleed and AJ. Amersham never recovered from losing early wickets and were all out for 78 leaving plenty of jug time for dove to celebrate a great Maiden Ton.
