A weaker Sunday team visited Hurst and, despite a good start with Sullivan and Overend bowling well, the field were below par and Hurst escaped with many streaky edges. Rumble and Hawkes never looked comfortable, with the latter perishing to some lightening work by Savage behind the sticks. Weeks and Smith never really got going and things looked rosy for Wooburn.



Saeed and Evans came together and, with the left hand right hand combination causing problems with the bowlers\ line and too many short-pitched deliveries, Hurst accelerated to 236-4.



Opening with the spin of Weeks and Lacey, Paul Cooper and Chris Sullivan got off to a good start, with Sullivan dataposting a catch to the \keeper on 46, and Cooper going to a run out decision in which the third umpire would have been forced to give the benefit of the doubt. Evans and Pidgeon contributed, and when Paul Sullivan and Stuart Savage came together for the eight wicket, both delivered lusty blows, with Paul Sullivan scoring 30 off 19 balls.



Savage and Sullivan both perished trying to take the game from the bowling of Weeks. and, in truly defiant style, Wooburn either would not, or could not, lie down. Klosterman holed out with three balls to go.
