PAUL CUTHBERT PASSES 1,000 RUNS
On Sunday, Wooburn 2nds had a tremendous afternoon in the field. With only 10 men, they bowled out a strong Aston Rowant 2nd XI for just 111. Tim Waxman (1-13) and Paul Cuthbert bowled tight opening spells. The experienced spin twins, Harry Pidgeon (5-20) and Alan Coombe (2-23) then completely outfoxed the later Aston order.
Wooburn lost youngster Steve Nower early on, but Garland (32) and Cuthbert (26) made sure there would be no shocks. Durig his innings, Paul Cuthbert reached his 1,000 runs for the season. Gary Mayo (16 not out) and Nigel Turner (19 not out) rounded off a six wicket win with an unbeaten stand.
