Wooburn Narkovians recorded their third Chilterns League win in a row when the beat local rivals White Waltham.
Wooburn won the toss and inserted Waltham, who then made a steady start through Dennis Allen and Wake. They put on 30 for the first wicket. Good spells by Tim Waxman and Paul Sullivan then reduced the visitors to 61-6.
From this poor position, Waltham recovered to make a respectable score thanks to Bhatti (40), West (23 not out) and Johnson (20 not out), who all batted in a positive fashion. Sullivan (3-18), Waxman (2-34) and Morris (3-56) were the pick of the Wooburn bowlers as Waltham made 154-8 off their 48 overs.
With 42 overs to chase the runs, the Narks reply stuttered at first. At 52-4 they were in trouble, but a fine knock from skipper Stuart Savage, joining with Angus Porter in an excellent fifth wicket partnership, saw the home side to victory with overs to spare. Martyn Metcalfe had caused the early problems and he finished with 4-26.
