Match Report
Ian Rance provided the foundation for ICI\s 227-9 during Saturday\s drawn league game. Rance depsatched the heat-affected Wooburn attack to all parts of the ground during his monumental innings of 110. He was, however, aided by a few indiscretions by the Wooburn fielders.
Wooburn\s answer to Valderama brought respectability to the proceedings by claiming three wickets with his viscious searing deliveries. The out-of-touch and unfit Day chipped in with two useful wickets, to double his tally for the season.
In response, Wooburn lost Lawless early on, but the dynamic Milsom and superlative Smith put Wooburn back on course, until wickets tumbled again. The antics of Porter and young Turner were put to right, somewhat temporarily, by Savage and Morris.
The young up and coming batsman, Day, ably assisted the majestic Phil Cuthbert, who was suffering from sunstroke. Promising colt Brown then defended the fierce ICI attack, by taking numerous blows to his young body, and protected his more mature partner, Harper.
