EXCELLENT KNOCKS KEEP PARK IN TITLE CHASE
Marlow Park had the better of the Chilterns League fixture with local rivals Wooburn Narkovians on Saturday. Some excellent batting from Nigel Bruce and Mick McKeown helped them to a good win at Marlow.
Title-chasers Marlow Park batted first and managed a challenging total on a weather-affected wicket. After Chris Maskery (26) and Derek Harris fell to the bowling of Brown (2-33), Bruce (76) and McKeown (41) shared a fine third wicket stand. When they were out, wickets fell to P.Cuthbert (4-27) and Park finished on 177-9.
This was a difficult target, especially as Pat Garner took three early wickets. David Smith (22) and Phil Day (34) made contributions, but the Park bowling was always on top as Wooburn were dismissed for 110. Tony Wasley took 3-36, Keith Dormer 2-6 and Ayres 2-21.
