Wooburn let a winning position slip when the entertained Ruislip. The visitors batted first and laboured to make 161, with Jeff Morris and \Norbert\ Ball (6-42), making a rare appearance for the club, putting tight reins on the batsmen. The latter mesmerised the opposition with his unique brand of off-spin.
In reply, only three Wooburn batsmen reached double figures. Cooper made 16, but the mainstay of the innings were the Cuthbert brothers, with Phil including some ferocious hitting in his 45, while Ian played more defensively for 44.
The Ruislip total should really have been overhauled, but with the rest of the batsmen failing, it was left to Harper and Sullivan to stave off defeat.
