A slow but solid start by the opposition openers was undone by a sharp caught and bowled chance taken by Harper, after Cuthbert\s circus tricks had failed to account for Slade earlier.



Harper\s flight and Porter\s speed combined dramatically to take the wickets of Norris and Collicutt. A quick single to Francis was ill-advised as the fielder scored a direct hit from cover point, dismantling Hawthorne\s furniture.



Two quick wickets by Day provided a hat-trick opportunity, which Slade kicked aside in nonchalant fashion. Harper increased his haul to five to prove his strike ability, when wrapping up the tail.



The sleepy Cuthbert fell to a delivery from the sun, as Frankie Smith strode to the wicket. A couple of oh-my-goodness shots saw Smith advance the score, though his downfall was imminent.



Cooper departed to a steepling catch as White and Cuthbert continued the attack. Day\s lusty blows were brief but effective, leaving the hooking Harper and youthful adventurism of Sullivan to win the game in the last over.
