Sullivan\s early wicket was quickly followed by the unlikely combination of Turner and Day, as two early Kidmore End wickets fell. Clarke batted superbly for 93 before Howard deceived him with a wind assisted delivery.
Boad, Hand and Berry all contributed valuable runs as Kidmore End declared on 196-6.
Porter and Cuthbert started quickly, sneaking singles where possible, though Porter\s reverse sweeps were sadly lacking. Shoulders Cuthbert joined his brother after Porter fell, and blamed his bat for his elementary downfall that brought Savage to the wicket.
Cuthbert brought up another fifty as Savage quickly fell, allowing Curtis to enter the fray. Curtis\ improvisation, including a dive over the wicket-keeper, was complemented by his mammoth drive to long on, scattering the local wildlife. A number of heaves later and Curtis unfortunately fell, bringing Smith to the wicket.
A cultured scoop by Smith saw him depart tragically and bring the dynamic duo of Day and Turner to the wicket. The unlikely combination gracefully and professionally brought Wooburn to the verge of victory, before a kamikazi-inspired Turner ran himself out.
The reliable Harper and skipper Cooper scrambled the winning runs, much to the pleasure of the knitting fraternity assembled in the pavilion, with one ball to spare.
