HARPER IS ON SONG FOR NARKOVIANS



Peter Harper claimed five wickets in a useful display of spin bowling on Saturday. Harper worked his way through Wycombe House\s middle order, although the away side managed to hold on for a draw in a well-contested match.



The Narks batted first and lost two early wickets to Jordan. Cooper (34) and White (21) then advanced the score against the tight bowling of Talwar and Sisodia. Disaster then struck as Phil Day, Stuart Savage and Jeff Morris fell in quick succession, the latter two both going for ducks.



Angus Porter (31) and Peter Harper (22) then put together an unbroken ninth wicket partnership to take the Narks to 158-8, with both batting in imaginative and determined fashion.



In Wycombe House\s reply, Ramdeen fell early on to the pace of Day, but Taylor (25) and Roome (37) played some classical shots to put their side in a good position. However, the flight and guile of Harper saw the middle order stumble, while Morris gave good support.



Wickets tumbled in the pursuit of quick runs, leaving Sylvester and Jordan to survive the final overs, and they ended seven runs adrift with two wickets in hand.
